terms of service
Version of October 6, 2026, in force from that date · covers amb.training and amb.coaching, wherever you're using them from
Who you're agreeing with
These terms are between you and house of amb . gasser, operated from Switzerland (see our impressum for the full legal address). They apply to amb.training (the app and web app) and amb.coaching (connecting with a coach), since both run on the same account and the same backend. By creating an account or signing in, you agree to these terms.
The service
amb.training plans and tracks endurance training: structured workouts, training plans, and your own progress. amb.coaching lets you connect that account to a real coach (or, if you turn coaching on, lets athletes connect to you), so sessions can be planned and followed by someone else with your consent. Some parts are paid, see "Plans and payment" below. See our FAQ for what's live today versus on the roadmap. amb is not medical advice and not a medical device; see our health disclaimer.
Plans and payment
Athletes (amb.training).
- You can plan and follow your own sessions for today and tomorrow, and see your past sessions, for free. On the free plan you can export your past and completed sessions as files at any time, and send your planned sessions for today and tomorrow to your watch or bike computer or download them as files, whoever planned them. Further features, such as plans beyond tomorrow, sending or exporting planned sessions for any other day, the workout library, analysis and the AI assistant connection, need an amb pro subscription. On every plan, including the free one, you can always ask us for a copy of your data by email, free of charge; see our privacy policy.
- New accounts get 14 days of all features at no cost. The 14 days end on their own and never turn into a charge by themselves. You only pay if you subscribe in the app.
- Sessions your coach plans for you stay available without a subscription.
- You buy an amb pro subscription in the iOS app, monthly or yearly, through the Apple App Store. Apple takes the payment, renews it automatically until you cancel, and handles refunds and cancellation. You manage or cancel it in your Apple account settings, at least 24 hours before the period ends. The price is shown in the app before you buy.
- The iOS app is licensed to you under Apple's standard license agreement, unless these terms say otherwise. Apple is not a party to these terms.
Coaches (amb.coaching).
- amb.coaching is a paid service for professional use. By subscribing you confirm that you use it for professional purposes. There is no free plan.
- Every coach account starts with one free trial of 14 days, with no payment details needed. The trial ends on its own and does not turn into a paid plan unless you subscribe.
- Your coach plan, and the coach trial, include amb pro for your own training, on amb.training and in the iOS app, with the same account. It needs no separate purchase. If you also pay for an amb pro subscription in the app, you can cancel that one yourself in your Apple ID settings.
- After the trial you pay monthly or yearly. The price, what it covers (including how many athletes), the currency and any taxes are shown on the billing page and at checkout, before you pay.
- You pay by card through Stripe. The seller of these subscriptions is Link, LLC, a Stripe company in the United States, which acts as the merchant of record: the invoice comes from Link, LLC, and it charges and accounts for the VAT or sales tax that applies, shown on the invoice. Stripe processes the payment. The plan renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time on the billing page. Your plan then runs until the end of the period you have paid for and does not renew. We do not refund the unused part of a period, unless the law requires it or the seller's terms provide for it. Where a refund is due, the seller issues it. Any terms of sale the seller shows at checkout apply to the purchase in addition to these terms.
- If your plan ends or a payment fails, you lose access to the coach features. Your plans, library and athlete links are kept, and come back when you subscribe again. Your athletes are not charged and keep their own data.
- If we change a price, we tell you at least 30 days before the renewal it first applies to.
We can give free access to an account, for example to testers, and can end it again. Promotion codes apply under the terms shown with the code.
Your account
- You sign in with Google or Apple — we never see or store that password. Keep your Google/Apple account secure; anyone with access to it has access to amb.
- You must be at least 16. By signing in you confirm that you are. If we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, we delete it.
- One account, one person. Don't share your sign-in with someone else, or use amb on someone else's behalf without their knowledge.
- You're responsible for what you enter (thresholds, zones, sessions) and for anything you send through the coach chat.
- You can delete your account at any time, from the app or web — see our privacy policy for exactly what that does. A subscription that still renews has to be cancelled first, where the app tells you, so that it does not keep charging an account that no longer exists.
Coaching relationships
If you link to a coach, or link an athlete to you as a coach, that relationship is between the two of you. amb provides the connection, the consent settings, and the calendar/chat it happens through — we don't vet, certify, match, or take a side in that relationship, and we're not a party to it.
- Any agreement between you and your coach, such as their terms, fees and how they use your data, is between the two of you and is made outside amb. amb does not provide, check or take part in it. We recommend agreeing the basics in writing.
- As an athlete, a coach's advice, the sessions they plan for you, and anything they say in chat is their own professional judgment, not amb's. Our health disclaimer still applies in full — a coach connection doesn't change that you're responsible for listening to your own body.
- As a coach, you're responsible for the sessions you plan and what you say to an athlete. amb doesn't review or approve coaching content before it reaches an athlete.
- As a coach, you must not link an athlete under 16 to your account; amb is for people aged 16 and over, and an athlete under 16 is not allowed to use it.
- As a coach, you confirm that you have a lawful basis for the athlete data you receive, that you tell each athlete how you use it, and that you handle it under the law that applies to you. For health data that includes the athlete's explicit consent. When a link ends, you delete or anonymize the athlete's data you hold, unless the law requires you to keep it. amb does not verify your qualifications, your insurance or your agreements with athletes.
- A coach may use an AI assistant to help plan your training only if you have switched on "Let your coach use an AI assistant" in your app. A coach who connects an AI assistant confirms that they are allowed to use it for the athletes they coach and remains responsible for every session that reaches an athlete, whether or not an AI suggested it, and confirms that using an AI assistant is compatible with any confidentiality duty owed to athletes. AI suggestions are drafts, not professional advice.
- Either side can end the link at any time. The athlete's data access for that coach stops immediately; sessions already planned stay in the athlete's calendar.
Insight texts written with AI
With Advanced insights on (amb pro), amb shows short texts before and after a session and for your week. The statement in them comes from rules and your own numbers; an AI model then words it so it reads naturally, and with "Tell me more" it explains it further. These texts are drafts to help you think about your training, not coaching, medical or professional advice, and they can be wrong or incomplete, so check them against how you feel. If an AI text does not pass amb's checks, amb shows a fixed phrase instead. Which data goes to the AI provider, and what it may do with it, is described in our privacy policy (see "Insight texts" and "Tell me more"). We never send workouts that come from Strava to an AI model.
Connecting your own AI assistant
You can connect an AI assistant you use yourself, such as Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini, to your own account, as described in our privacy policy. It can read your workouts, plans and goals, and it can create, edit and delete your planned workouts. It cannot change completed workouts or your account.
- You do this at your own risk. An AI can be wrong or change more than you meant, so check what it did to your calendar. What it says is not coaching or medical advice; see our health disclaimer.
- The AI provider's own terms apply to your use of it. amb is not responsible for the provider, for what it does with the data it receives, or for its output.
- Keep the connection secure, and disconnect it when you stop using it. You are responsible for what is done through a connection you made.
- Connecting an assistant in this way is normal use of amb.
Your content
Your training data, the plans and workouts you build, and anything you write in chat stay yours. By using amb you give us the license we need to store and process that content to run the service (show it to you, sync it across your devices, and — only with your consent — share it with a coach you've linked). We don't use your content for anything else, and don't sell or rent it — see our privacy policy for the full detail.
The plans and library workouts a coach builds remain the coach's. An athlete who receives a plan or workout may use it for their own training only, and may not copy, publish or resell it.
Our content and brand
The amb apps, the website, the name and the design belong to house of amb . gasser. While your account is open you may use them for your own training or, as a coach, for the athletes you coach. Don't resell or pass on access to amb, to a plan or to an account, and don't offer your amb.coaching access to others as a service of your own.
The software, the screens and layouts, the icons, the texts (including the insights and explanations amb writes for you), the way amb works and the way it is put together are protected by copyright and other rights of house of amb . gasser. You may not copy, imitate or rebuild them, in whole or in part, in your own product or service, or let someone else do so, and you may not use amb or what it returns to build, train or improve a competing product or an AI model.
Acceptable use
Don't use amb to:
- access an account that isn't yours, or a coach/athlete link you weren't given a code for,
- scrape, reverse engineer, decompile or overload the service beyond ordinary personal use (the AI connection described above is ordinary use), or collect its texts, plans, insights or answers in bulk or by automated means,
- sign up or keep an account to study how amb works in order to copy it, or share the app, its files or its content with someone for that purpose,
- upload anything illegal, abusive, or that isn't actually your own training data, or
- impersonate a coach or athlete you aren't.
We can suspend or terminate an account that does any of this. If you see abusive content in the chat, or you find a security problem, write to hello@trainwithamb.com. We remove content and suspend accounts where needed, and we will not take action against anyone who reports a security problem in good faith, uses it only to show that it exists, does not access other people's data beyond that, and gives us reasonable time to fix it.
No guarantee of availability
amb is provided as-is, in active development, without a formal uptime guarantee. We aim to keep it running and your data intact, but we're not liable for lost training data from a service interruption, a bug, or a third party we depend on (Apple Health, Google/Apple sign-in, our hosting provider) being unavailable. Export your data regularly if that matters to you — see the FAQ for how. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights stay as they are; nothing in this section takes them away.
For paid plans we work with reasonable care and skill: we aim to keep amb available, tell you in advance about planned downtime where practical, and fix faults within a reasonable time. This is not a guaranteed uptime. Neither side is liable for a failure caused by an event beyond its reasonable control, such as an outage at Apple, Google, Cloudflare or our hosting provider, a network failure or an order of an authority. This does not affect payments already due or your rights as a consumer.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, amb (house of amb . gasser) is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, or for a coaching decision made by a coach — see our health disclaimer for the health-specific version of this. This limit does not apply to, and nothing here limits, liability for intent or gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under mandatory product liability rules, or in any other case where the law does not allow liability to be limited.
Towards coaches and other business customers, our total liability for slight negligence is limited to the fees paid for the plan in the 12 months before the damage occurred. Consumers keep all their statutory rights.
Ending this agreement
You can stop using amb and delete your account at any time. We can terminate or suspend your access for a genuine breach of these terms (see "Acceptable use"), with notice where practical. If we end your access because of such a breach, we do not refund fees you have paid for the current period, unless the law requires it. We may also change or discontinue the service, for example when private testing ends, with at least 30 days' notice where practical. If you have prepaid for a period that we then cut short, we refund the unused part. Either way, deletion works the same as described in our privacy policy. We may delete an account that has been inactive for 24 months, without further notice. Signing in keeps an account active, and an account with an active paid plan is never inactive. Clauses that by their nature continue, such as those on liability, content and governing law, continue after the agreement ends.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. We tell you about a meaningful change in the app, on the website or by email at least 30 days before it starts (a notice in the app counts as given), together with the date it starts, and update the date at the top of this page. The change applies from that date. You can delete your account at any time without cost if you do not agree. If you have a paid plan and do not agree, you can cancel before it starts and keep your access until the end of the period you paid for. Using amb after that date means you accept the change.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Swiss law, matching our impressum. If something goes wrong, write to us first at hello@trainwithamb.com. Most things are settled that way.
If we cannot settle it, the courts at the seat of house of amb . gasser in Switzerland (address in the impressum) decide. If you are a consumer, any right you have under mandatory consumer protection law to bring a claim where you live, or to rely on the mandatory rules of your country, stays as it is.
General
If a part of these terms turns out to be invalid, the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce a right at once, we do not give it up. We may hand these terms on to a successor who takes over amb. You may not hand your account to someone else.
These terms, together with our privacy policy and health disclaimer, are the whole agreement between you and amb about the service and replace earlier versions. For the iOS app, Apple's standard licence terms apply in addition.
