What is amb?

A training app for endurance athletes that does less, on purpose. Plan your sessions however you like, send them to your watch or bike computer with amb pro, tick them off when they're done, and see your load: time in zones and training stress from your heart rate, without wading through a dozen charts you didn't ask for. Your watch or bike computer keeps the analysis; amb is where you decide what comes next.

When can I sign up?

amb is in private testing right now. There's no public sign-up yet. The "coming soon" button on the home page is exactly that, not a broken link. Athletes create their account in the iOS app, where you also confirm your age; coaches can create an account on amb.coaching. amb is for people aged 16 and over.

How much will it cost?

amb has a free part and a paid part, described in our terms. You can plan and follow your own sessions for today and tomorrow for free. New accounts get 14 days of all features; after that, amb pro is a monthly or yearly subscription you buy in the iOS app. Coaches get one free 14-day trial of amb.coaching and then pay monthly or yearly. The price is always shown before you pay, and nothing turns into a charge by itself. During private testing, some accounts have free access.

What platforms does amb run on?

A native iPhone app and this web app, on one account: plan from a laptop, train from your phone, same data either way. With amb pro, your sessions go to Apple Watch, Suunto, COROS, Wahoo and Hammerhead. Garmin, Zepp and other devices are on the roadmap, not live yet.

Where does my training data come from?

On the app, from Apple Health, with your explicit permission, however it got there (Apple Watch, a footpod, a manual entry), and from platforms that send workouts: Suunto, COROS, Wahoo and Hammerhead. On the web, from indoor sessions you record here directly.

Which watches and bike computers work with amb?

Apple Watch, Suunto, COROS, Wahoo and Hammerhead. With amb pro you send a structured session from amb to your device, and you choose each one yourself. Sending to devices is not part of the free plan. Suunto, COROS, Wahoo and Hammerhead also send your finished workouts back to amb (COROS*). Apple Watch workouts arrive through Apple Health. Suunto needs a watch that supports SuuntoPlus guides. *COROS: on the iPhone you connected it on.

For a platform that is not connected yet, anything that lands in Apple Health lands in amb. You can also bring a workout in as a FIT file with the HealthFit app, or through RunGap. These are third-party apps with their own privacy policies.

What does amb keep about me?

Your account (name and email from your Google or Apple sign-in), your profile (thresholds, zones, goals, and, if you enter them, your birthday and resting heart rate), the average values of each workout (duration, distance, average heart rate and power), and your plans. If you have a coach, also your questionnaire answers, weekly check-ins and chat messages. We also keep a record of your consent choices and the connections you set up (devices, AI assistants, push notifications). The detail of a workout (heart rate, pace and power over time) only if you turn on amb insights, and turning it off deletes that copy. You can delete any workout, and delete your account, in the app. The privacy policy lists how long each kind of data is kept.

Can I use amb without sharing my workout details?

Yes. An account always needs your name and email from your Google or Apple sign-in. Beyond that, connect nothing, or connect only Apple Health. Everything beyond the average values of a workout is a separate yes, off by default.

Can I get my data out if I leave?

Yes, on every plan, including the free one. Email hello@trainwithamb.com and we send you a copy of everything we hold about you within 30 days, free of charge. Your completed workouts also stay in Apple Health and on your devices, where they started. You can also export your past and completed sessions as standard files at any time, and your planned sessions for today and tomorrow as FIT or ZWO files, or send them straight to your watch or bike computer. With amb pro you can send or export a planned session for any day. See the privacy policy.

What happens if I stop paying?

Your data stays. On the free plan you can see and export your past sessions, plan today and tomorrow (and send or export those sessions), and always ask for a copy of your data. Plans beyond tomorrow, sending or exporting planned sessions for other days, the workout library, analysis, and the AI assistant connection need amb pro. Sessions your coach plans for you stay available without a subscription. See the terms.

Who can see my data?

You do. If you link a coach, they see what your consent settings allow, and you can end the link at any time. Nobody else sees it, and we don't sell it. The detail is in the privacy policy.

Can I connect an AI assistant?

Yes, if you want to. You can connect an assistant you already use, such as Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini, to your own account. It can read your workouts and plans and create, edit and delete your planned workouts, so check what it did. Its answers are not coaching or medical advice. You disconnect it at any time. See the terms and the health disclaimer.

Does amb use AI?

Only where it really helps. With amb pro you can describe a session in a sentence ("40 min easy with 6 × 200 m strides") and amb lays it out as steps for you to check and adjust. amb never plans your season, changes your sessions on its own or decides whether you should train. What amb shows about your training is counted from your own data, and it says what it is based on.

Do you sell my data or run ads?

No, and no. See the privacy policy for exactly what's collected and why.

Is amb a replacement for a real coach?

amb itself isn't. It's a tool for planning and tracking your own training, not a substitute for medical or coaching advice specific to you. If you want an actual coach, amb.coaching lets you connect your account to one: they plan your sessions and follow your week, you decide what they can see. See the terms for how that works and the health disclaimer for the health side.
